Why?

In order to identify which of our pubs consistently serve real ale well, CAMRA run a scoring system. Pubs and clubs need our support, and the best will end up in CAMRA's best selling CAMRA Good Beer Guide, but only if we score them.

How?

Following research and feedback, the system has been simplified. No numbers or parts thereof, just simple to understand descriptions, as shown in this chart. It is easy to do on the pub or club page via CAMRA Pubs on your computer or phone.

Remember you are scoring the quality of the beer rather than whether it suits your style or not i.e. it could be Champion Beer of Britain, but if it's in poor condition, it gets a poor score.
