FORESTERS ARMS EGHAM TO CLOSE?!

The owner of the Forester's Arms in Egham has applied for change of use, in order to convert the pub into flats, having already built flats in the car park. Please see Foresters Arms Planning Application, which contains links to various documents. The closing date for comments and objections is 25th August 2025, but we need to ACT NOW.

The owner states it is not economically viable, but the simple economics are the building is worth more as a development opportunity than as a pub. However a pub is a community asset, and this one an increasingly rare community local. Written submission includes the Armstrong Gun in Englefield Green as an alternative, maybe if you're very fit!

Further information on how we can save this community local are contained Save Your Pub - A CAMRA Guide and Pub Protection and Planning. Some objections have already been received by the Council mainly around parking; if you have a view, click on Foresters Arms Planning Application, look at the documents, and use the comments link.

Pub closures are not inevitable, CAMRA have done lots of research which you can find in Vision for Pubs on the main CAMRA website. Interested in helping or finding out more? Please Contact Branch.
