Branch Awards 2024
Every year, we give CAMRA Awards to local pubs and clubs. The shortlist is drawn up based on members visiting pubs and clubs, and submitting beer scores for the next edition of the Good Beer Guide, see Beer Scoring and GBG for more details.
Eleven pubs and clubs from that list go into our pages of the Good Beer Guide, and from those we select winners based on the quality of their real ales and ciders, cleanliness, community focus, service & welcome, decor & atmosphere, and support for CAMRA aims. This year, these were:
Pub of the Year Thames Side Brewery in Staines.
Cider Pub of the Year Thames Side Brewery again. The first time we've had a double award winner.
Local members James & Gary celebrating with Brewer Andy Hayward on occasion of the launch of the Good Beer Guide 2025.
Club of the Year Egham United Services Club in, well, Egham.
Presentation by Branch Chair Spike (who claims he's lost some weight since) to Club Secretary Julie.
Cider Pub of the Year Highly Commended went to the Olde Swan Hotel in Chrertsey.
Presentation by Branch Cider Rep Sue. First year we've awarded this, to acknowledge pub's ongoing commitment to real cider.
Congratulations to all our winners, who are all well worth a visit if you've not done so already.
